metallurgists at least who describe themselves as such. However, metallic objects and
metals are involved in crime and are often the subject of forensic investigations.

Forensic science is inevitably and unavoidably multi-disciplinary. Many individuals
contribute their expertise to forensic investigations. There are a small number of forensic
